A list of places I’d like to visit, posted here because I lose notebooks quite often

The Americas

(because it’s fun to refer to the continents like a 15th c. European explorer)

Argentina: Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Mendoza / wine country, Salta, Ushuaia, Códorba

Uruguay: Montevideo, Colonia del Sacramento

Bolivia: Sucre, Potosí, Tarija

Mexico: Tulum, Chichén Itza, Mexico City, Izamel, Guadalajara, Mérida, Islas Mujeres, Palenque, Oaxaca

Costa Rica: Wait and hope that my mum will keep enthusiasm about coming here …………………… 😉

Colombia: Medellín (also I can show off about the fact I actually know how to pronounce this, in a smug #polyglot way) Cartagena, Ciudad Perdida, San Agustín, Bogotá, Barichara.

Europe

Italy: Florence, Milan, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Siena, Pisa, Bologna, Perugia, Genoa, Turin,Verona, Trieste, Padua,

Germany: Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Heidelberg, castles + small towns in Southern Germany (the  Romantische Strasse)

France: pretty much everywhere, apart from any slightly ugly town or city which might potentially threaten my vision of France as The Perfect Country

Greece: Would like to go island – hopping

Spain: Cuenca, San Sebastián, Salamanca,

Belgium / Iceland: / Macedonia Jake (…)

Portugal: Porto, Lisbon, Alentejo, Sintra, Monsanto, the Azorean archipelago.

The places I think of as ‘Prussia’, regardless of whether they were Prussian or not: Bratislava, Budapest, Warsaw, Bucharest, Sibiu, Nida, Skopje, Riga, Sofia, Tallinn, Vilnius, Prague, Berat, Lake Bled, Buthrotum

Russia: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod, Kazan, Kaliningrad, I kind of want to go on the Trans-Siberian express, also have a sadistic desire to exile self to Siberia.

Africa

Egypt: Cairo, Red Sea, Aswan, Valley of the Kings, Edfu

Sudan: Naqa

Middle East

Jordan: Petra, Amman,

Israel: Jerusalem

Iran: Shiraz

Turkey: Istanbul

Asia

Hong Kong

Japan: Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hakone, Nikko, Koya-San, Tsumago.

Vietnam: Hôi An, Halong Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, My Son, Cu Chi tunnels,

Thailand

India: Golden triangle – Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Rajasthan, Goa, Madya Paresh, Assam

Such a shame I’ll never be able to get a job, with all this travelling, and that I’m going to have to invent some form of free travel system.

n.b. this is just a ‘note to self’ which is why I haven’t bothered putting in tags etc.
